  1. Summer Court Hat of the
  2. Ch'ien-lung Emperor
  3. Ch'ing Dynasty (A.D. 1644-
  4. 1911)
  5.      This crown is shaped 
  6. like a round cymbal.  It 
  7. is made of red silk gauze 
  8. on the inside and white 
  9. cloth on the outside,  with 
  10. a border of gold and black 
  11. piping.   The upper side is 
  12. embellished with vermilion 
  13. threads.   The flat top is 
  14. covered with tapestry satin.  
  15. The finial's three layers 
  16. are linked by three pearls, 
  17. each   set  in  four  gold 
  18. dragons     which     are 
  19. embellished with pearls.
  20. The  front of  the crown is
  21. embellished  with a gold 
  22. Buddha,   the  back  with 
  23. miniature beads.
